Adventures in Bra-making

I was quite surprised to find a reasonable substitute for Duoplex, in terms of stretch percentage and firmness, at the fabric store on Saturday. I had looked multiple times before and the closest I had found was Simplex. But Saturday, I ran across knitted butter suede. It doesn't have a shiny side.  It has a dull side and a suede-like brushed nap side. On the sewing side,  I cut out a PUG Classic and mom sewed it up (her machine is finicky). After a wash, it was softer and Mawmaw really liked the velvety suede inside. Rumpledsilkskiens

Hello World I started off the long weekend by combing black-bay huacaya alpaca and green Firestar into top that I'm calling Aurora Borealis. I could not start on spinning it until I had clear off a couple of bobbins though.   Therefore I finished spinning and 2-plied a merino/silk sliver that had been on the Ashford Traveller since December. It turned out beautifully.  Then I was able to get started on my Aurora Borealis.  Which will look spectacular.
